6 months!

On Monday Ethan turned 6 months old. Brandon had the day off so we took a trip to the zoo, our first as a family. It was in the 40s that day so we were able to check out the the outdoor animals too. What a great way to celebrate! Here is a video from later that day.

His 6 month check up at the doctor went well. I haven't been keeping up with what infants Ethan's age should be doing, but his doctor said he was doing great and right on track. He is in the 33rd percentile for weight (16 lbs 11oz). 47th for length (26 inches) but 70th for head circumference (17 inches)! We think this is why he is having trouble rolling from back to front...he can't pick his head up once he gets his body rolled over. That and he doesn't really like being on his belly so why would he roll on to it?

I'm having trouble keeping up with all the new things Ethan has been up to each day. He has been saying 'buh buh', 'muh muh', 'duh duh' and I have definitely heard 'mum mum'. He holds things up in the air, reaches for the person he would like to hold him, is becoming more talented at the piano, has had a few play dates, can entertain himself for longer periods of time, has a favorite book (Toes, Ears and Nose), and is learning how to eat food.
